Downloadable Press Release: Design Net – Nightvision Press Release – July 2015
July 15, 2015 (Golden, CO) – Nightvision Holdings, Inc., (www.nightvision2012.com) a privately-held holding company providing engineering, analysis and related services and solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, announced today it has acquired Golden, CO – based Design Net Engineering, LLC (www.design-group.com).
Design Net will remain a Colorado Limited Liability Company with Nightvision Holdings, Inc. as its sole Member. It will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, retaining its name and preserving its 19 year heritage as an industry leader in providing Responsive Space avionics, rideshare solutions and advanced sensors to NASA, the military and large scale integrators such as United Launch Alliance, LLC (the 50-50 joint venture between Lockheed Martin and The Boeing Company) and Raytheon (NYSE:RTN). Gerry Murphy, founder of Design Net, will remain with the Company as Chief Technology Officer and Principal Engineer. Ted Batch, Chief Operating Officer of Nightvision, will serve on an interim basis as President of Design Net.
Commenting on the acquisition, Gerry Murphy noted, “We are excited to join the Nightvision team as its principal entrée into the aerospace industry. Nightvision’s longstanding relationships in the defense and intelligence communities will greatly supplement our own in the launch vehicle, sensor and payload sectors. Together we look forward to expanding our markets and developing new, advanced solutions and products.”
Commenting on the Nightvision Task ForceTM organizational model, Mr. Murphy continued, “When Nightvision approached us and described how, unlike most acquirers, they were seeking to preserve and enhance our “company DNA” rather than absorb and dissolve us into a larger division or operating unit, we stood up and listened. Their approach to ownership is unlike any we had seen from competitors or financial buyers seeking to buy us.”
The Nightvision Task ForceTM seeks to aggregate complementary government contractors serving the C5ISR sectors of the defense and intelligence communities. In addition to Design Net, the holding company is a joint venture partner with NAVA Real Estate Development, LLC (www.navareal.com) in N2, LLC, which is currently developing a 40,000 sq. ft. business center meeting U.S. government ICD 705 specifications in Denver, CO.
Ted Batch added, “The Front Range is an increasingly vibrant market for aerospace and defense. Nightvision is pleased to expand its footprint with the acquisition of Design Net and we look forward to teaming with their outstanding management and staff to expand from its core competence within the NASA world to adjacent military and intelligence markets.”
